In a few days T. would celebrate his birthday. And he was expecting to become soon the father of a baby girl. His research area is the recycling of fibre reinforced polymers. Therefore, he is producing regularly 'black hamsters' when using a low-shear mixing technique to recycle carbon fibres. I wanted to present him a personalised gift made of recycled materials. That's why I came up with the idea to make a small pouch that could be of useful for baby items.
A plastic weave from an old supermarket shopping bag was used for the outer material. The lining was made of a pink striped cotton fabric. The zipper was taken from an old damaged handbag. And the hamster was made of felt leftovers.
